Gina-Maria Schumacher, the daughter of Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher, has shared her first message since reports emerged about her father’s rare public appearance at her wedding—his first in over a decade. Michael has been out of the public eye since a serious skiing accident in 2013 left him in a coma for several months.
While the family has kept details about his current condition private, recent reports indicate he attended Gina-Maria’s wedding in Majorca, marking his first public outing since the accident.
Shortly after the ceremony, 27-year-old Gina-Maria posted a photo with her husband, Iain Bethke, on Instagram. The couple exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony at the family villa in Majorca, surrounded by a small group of guests who respected the family’s desire for privacy.
The stunning villa, where the wedding took place, was purchased by Gina-Maria in 2017 for approximately £27 million from Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.
To ensure privacy and protect Michael from public exposure, the ceremony, which lasted about 30 minutes, was held in the afternoon around 4 PM. Guests were required to adhere to strict rules, including leaving phones and cameras outside, to prevent any images or videos of the F1 icon from being captured.
Gina-Maria and Iain share a passion for horses, having met at a stable, and have built their lives around equestrian activities. Gina-Maria has had a successful career as both a horse owner and rider, a pursuit she shares with her mother, Corinna Betsch.
