ISLAMABAD – Pakistan on Friday denounced its mention in the Indo-US joint statement as “one-sided, misleading, and against diplomatic norms,” emphasizing that it cannot overshadow India’s involvement in terrorism, subversion, and extrajudicial killings.

Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan, addressing a weekly briefing, stated that Pakistan’s reference in the statement disregarded its counterterrorism cooperation with the U.S. He asserted that such statements do not divert global attention from India being a safe haven for extremists targeting Muslims and other minorities.

“The statement fails to address India’s violation of UN Security Council resolutions, a major source of regional instability. Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to regional and global peace efforts while warning against the transfer of advanced military technologies to India, which could disrupt regional strategic balance. The spokesperson urged international stakeholders to adopt an objective approach to South Asian security rather than endorsing biased narratives.
