PM Shehbaz and UAE President explore avenues to enhance collaboration across multiple sectors.

DUBAI (APP) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Tuesday to explore avenues for strengthening Pakistan-UAE relations and enhancing collaboration in areas of mutual interest.

During the meeting, held at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, the UAE president welcomed PM Shehbaz, who is in the UAE for a working visit to attend the World Governments Summit 2025. The summit, themed ‘Shaping Future Governments,’ is being hosted in Dubai.

Discussions focused on expanding economic, trade, and development cooperation between the two nations, aligning with their shared vision for sustainable economic growth and prosperity. The leaders also highlighted the significance of the World Governments Summit in identifying global governance trends and developing strategies to improve government preparedness for emerging challenges.

Both sides emphasized leveraging these transformations to drive development and build a prosperous future. They also exchanged views on key regional and international issues, particularly developments in the Middle East. Stressing the importance of international cooperation, they underscored the need for intensified efforts to promote lasting peace based on the two-state solution to ensure regional stability and security.

Prime Minister Shehbaz reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its longstanding ties with the UAE and expanding cooperation, particularly in economic, trade, and investment sectors, in line with both countries’ development priorities.

The meeting was attended by senior UAE officials, including Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region; Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence; Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security; and Dr. Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Adviser to the UAE President, along with other Sheikhs, ministers, and senior officials.
