President Zardari and Chinese Premier discuss trade ties and people-to-people connections.

BEIJING (APP) – President Asif Ali Zardari met with Chinese Premier Li Qiang on Thursday to explore opportunities for enhancing trade and economic cooperation through business-to-business (B2B) and private sector linkages.

During the meeting at the Great Hall of the People, President Zardari, on a five-day official visit to China, reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership” with China, a bond nurtured by successive generations of leaders from both nations.

He emphasized Pakistan’s dedication to further deepening bilateral ties and acknowledged the pivotal role of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in fostering regional connectivity and economic growth. He also expressed gratitude for China’s ongoing support of Pakistan’s development initiatives.

The discussions focused on advancing CPEC 2.0, with both sides agreeing to enhance collaboration in renewable energy, science and technology, infrastructure, and agriculture to promote shared prosperity.

Additionally, both leaders emphasized the need to expand cultural and people-to-people exchanges, reinforcing their vision of a closer China-Pakistan Community of Shared Future in the New Era.
