Qatar Airways has refuted reports alleging the closure of its offices in Pakistan, reaffirming that its operations are continuing “as usual.”
In a statement released on the social media platform X, the airline clarified, “Qatar Airways flights to and from Pakistan are operating as usual, and our offices remain open.”
The airline addressed the misinformation by confirming that the reports suggesting office closures in Pakistan were incorrect.
This clarification came after speculations surfaced that the Qatari national carrier had shut down its offices in Pakistan as part of cost-cutting initiatives.
Earlier, Qatar Airways made headlines by announcing the resumption of flights to Damascus, Syria, after a 13-year hiatus, with three weekly flights set to begin. This move was hailed as a “significant step in reconnecting the region,” coming just a month after the fall of Syria’s long-time leader Bashar al-Assad.
Qatar Airways also reported a 39% rise in annual net profit for the previous year, reaching a record 6.1 billion Qatari riyals ($1.67 billion). The airline’s revenue grew by 6%, totaling 81 billion riyals for the fiscal year ending March 31. The carrier served over 40 million passengers and achieved a load factor of 83%.
