Shooters inform Mumbai Police that Baba Siddique’s son, MLA Zeeshan, was also targeted.

NCP leader Baba Siddique’s son, Zeeshan Siddique, was also targeted in the murder plot, according to statements from the arrested suspects to the Mumbai Police.

Baba Siddique was shot dead by three assailants on the night of October 14 in Maharashtra, with his funeral held the following day with state honors. Meanwhile, the Mumbai Police are actively investigating the case, uncovering new details from interrogations of the arrested individuals.

The Crime Branch reports that the suspects admitted they were contracted to kill both Baba Siddique and his son, Zeeshan, the latter being on the radar of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The attackers stated they had been ordered to take down both individuals at the same time; however, if that wasn’t possible, they were instructed to eliminate whoever was available.

The police have arrested two suspects: Gurmail Baljit Singh from Haryana and Dharmaraj Kashyap from Uttar Pradesh. Gurmail has a prior criminal record. A third suspect, Shiv Kumar, managed to evade capture and is currently on the run. Authorities are actively tracking him, having reportedly spotted him near Panvel on Monday morning. Multiple police teams have been deployed in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi to apprehend him, with the investigation being led by the Mumbai Police’s Anti-Extortion Cell.

The investigation has revealed that the three suspects commuted daily from their rented accommodation in Kurla to Bandra, often using auto-rickshaws. Once in Bandra, they would surveil locations associated with Baba and Zeeshan Siddique, including their residence, office, and event venues.

On the day of the incident, it is suspected that the attackers received information indicating that both Baba and Zeeshan were at the same location. Baba Siddique was ambushed by the three assailants at Kher Nagar, just outside his son’s office in Mumbai’s Bandra area.
